Duncan Stuart Hope 1925-2013

Duncan Stuart Hope was born at Hamilton on 20 October 1925 to Thomas Hope and his wife Mary Anne McDonald.

He married on 28 February 1948 to Lillian May Mulley, who was born 25 January 1928 at Hamilton.

He went to Konongwootong North school with his 2 sisters, Effie and Margaret and brother Allan. After the death of his father in 1929 when Duncan was 8 years old, his mother sold the farm and shifted to Coleraine where she owned a Boarding House. Duncan went to the Coleraine State School. At the age of 13 the family moved to Warrnambool and so he attended the Warrnambool Technical School. After leaving school he worked at the Warrnambool Woollen Mills until he joined the Air Force in April 1944 and completed 2 years services. In that time he was at Melbourne, Shepparton, Lake Boga, Darwin and Cape York. After the war he worked at Strachan's Timber Yard, Hamilton.

Duncan and Lilly had 3 children.

Duncan died on 13 October 2013, in Melbourne, Victoria.

Regretably, I have no further information about Duncan Hope or his family.
